OFSTED said in 2017: Outreach is an integral part of the school’s outward-looking philosophy. The outreach service provides training, coaching, mentoring and support for schools in designing a curriculum that meets the needs of pupils who have special educational needs and/or disabilities. Leaders improve the provision for these pupils in Medway and surrounding local authorities. The school transforms pupils’ lives and opens up the world to them.
We are seeking to appoint a talented, creative and innovative assistant to our Specialist Support Service team who can be instrumental in furthering the magic we create in this very successful part of our Academy Trust supporting children across Medway in both Mainstream and Independent provisions.
The role includes supporting individual students and staff, support in the development of Education Health Care Plans, lesson observations, coaching and mentoring. Assist in the delivery of CPD for staff which is bespoke to the needs of the setting. The Specialist Support Service Assistant will work under the direction of the Senior Teacher & Lead Practitioner to ensure that notes of visits are completed to a high standard. To attend relevant training courses and utilise knowledge gained to further enhance Outreach support.
The successful candidate should have a clear understanding about effective teaching and interventions for raising and sustaining achievement of children with SEND or SEMH needs as well as ensuring care and support of complex young individuals.
They should be a good communicator, able to engage effectively with young children and professionals on a daily basis. Ideally, they should have experience of delivering interventions and one to one or small group support. There will be a need to travel to provisions to support children and so an ability to drive with use of own car is a requirement.
We are looking for a passionate individual with a track record of delivering change in schools. You will be joining our excellent and happy team of staff to further develop the work of our well known and highly respected Specialist Support Service. The successful candidate will be provided with individualised professional support and induction; including accessing further professional qualifications and training as required.
We would encourage interested applicants to arrange a visit to our academy as we are confident that such an opportunity will convince them that they would really love to work at Bradfields!
